☀️This made my morning, Reader!!

Getting kids to buy in, take ownership, or become excited and self-motivated in language learning is half the battle.

This casual conversation I had with a mom this morning made me so happy. Her son used to have zero interest in French.

He didn’t want to speak it with his grandmother, even though it’s their family heritage language.

His mom really wanted him to learn, so she signed him up for French classes.

She told me she was shocked when he came home after his very first class — beaming with excitement, proud to understand French, flipping through his first chapter book, showing his dad the French words he could read, and telling his mom that she needs to learn more French so they can have a secret language together. 💛

That moment right there — this is the identity of a language learner. Seeing an eight-year-old believe in himself like that made my whole day. There’s no doubt in my mind he’ll grow up to be a fluent French speaker.

What made the difference?
The way French was presented. The material came through an easy-reader chapter book —

-confidence-building

-and empowering.

This has been my mission since day one of starting Language Mindset: to create materials that help kids understand quickly and feel capable from the very beginning because that spark leads to fluency.

It starts now, when they are young. Literally OVERNIGHT, this kiddo started to love French.

This makes my teacher's heart sooo happy, because I know his life will be better with French in it.

Now, one of the most exciting things we’re doing at Language Mindset is creating these chapter books — and I’m already on book number five! Because this is the roadmap. This is the path for young language learners.
