I failed Spanish in high school.

Not because I didn’t care. Not because I wasn’t “good” at languages.
But because I truly didn’t believe fluency was possible.

I had no examples around me—no students speaking confidently, no teachers modeling what it could actually look like to use a second language in real life. No one made it feel real, or reachable.

We were stuck translating paragraphs and memorizing rules... and for what? I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t connect.

So I failed—and ended up in summer school 🙃 [thanks, mom!]

Later, I discovered something that flipped everything upside down:
You can learn languages through stories—without obsessing over grammar. Just like we learn our first language. It was meaningful. It clicked. I wanted to keep going.

That was the turning point.

Years later, I left the classroom to create the kind of language school I wish I had as a kid—one that makes speaking the goal from day one, and shows kids what’s actually possible.

That’s how Language Mindset was born. We teach Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and German to kids ages 8–14—through fun, real conversation, story-based lessons, and zero pressure to be perfect.

Because confidence doesn’t come from drilling worksheets.
It comes from using the language—and realizing “I can do this.”
