Bonjour, Reader!! Shall we talk about French? First, let’s give a huge shoutout to Henry—one of our incredible 11-year-old students. This kid is not only a Lego master but also hilarious! His parents made him the ultimate deal: if he learns French, they’ll take him to Paris when he turns 13. Talk about top-tier parenting! Forget bribing kids with candy—these folks are handing out trips to France! Henry started with us 10 months ago knowing zero French. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Fast forward to now—he’s about to finish a whole chapter book in French! And not just pretending to read it while turning pages dramatically—he actually understands it. He’s even chatting in French with Kim, one of our newest team members. Say bonjour to Kim! Now, let’s address the elephant in the room… French pronunciation. Well, don’t quote me on this, but my old French professor once told me that centuries ago, the French aristocracy intentionally made spelling ridiculously complicated to keep the lower class from becoming literate. Do I believe it? Absolutely. Because knowledge is power, and nothing says “elite” like extra letters. Did you know? If you'd like our curated French YouTube playlist, reply, and I'll send ya the link! Au revoir!
