When I was twenty, living and studying abroad in Italy, I faced a moment that could have been terrifying: I needed my first root canal. Luckily, I had started learning Italian at sixteen and was already fluent enough to carry on a conversation. That made all the difference, Reader! Imagine the panic—sharp pain, urgency, and being far from home. But because I could speak Italian, I walked into the dentist’s office, explained my symptoms, and managed the entire procedure—from diagnosis to payment—without a second of fear or confusion. That day wasn’t just about surviving a root canal. It proved that speaking another language gives you independence, confidence, and access—even in life’s most stressful, unexpected moments. Languages aren’t meant to live and die in the classroom (because they do, and it breaks my heart). They are a living skill. That belief is what drove me to create my multilingual school. Because what I experienced in Italy—the ability to advocate for myself and truly participate in the world—is what it means to be a global citizen! Too often, kids see language as an academic subject—a worksheet, a grade, a test. [#soboring] But in reality, language is the key to connection. It’s your son realizing his basketball teammate speaks Spanish, so he starts using Spanish at practice—and suddenly that teammate feels like he truly belongs. It’s what turns a trip to Paris into more than sightseeing; it turns it into belonging. And for a child who loves Japanese culture, language becomes a bridge to joy, curiosity, and identity. Or your kiddo using Chinese next time you order Chinese food. The moment you ask a question in German and someone understands and responds—it’s the moment you realize you can truly communicate. That’s what language gives: confidence, connection, and the ability to belong anywhere. As I'm writing this, I wonder which language comes to mind for your kiddo! I'd love to know, reply and share. So this is the feeling we create in our online classes. I have the best teachers and the best families. It's a dream job, honestly. 😍 Our mission is clear: we teach kids how to use the language—so when the moment comes, whether it’s at a dentist’s office in Italy, on a family trip to Paris, or even helping a neighbor in Spanish, they’re ready. Our online classes are short, engaging, and built for kids ages 8–12. We focus on conversation, confidence, and real-world use. That way, language isn’t just a subject for them—it’s a skill for life.
