When I first started teaching Spanish, I followed the traditional playbook: grammar drills, conjugation charts, endless worksheets. That’s all I knew.

But something never felt right.

I’d hand out quizzes on stem-changing verbs and watch even my A+ students freeze when asked to actually speak. They could memorize rules, but they couldn’t use the language. And honestly? It broke my heart.

I remember thinking, “I know, kiddo. I don’t make the rules.”​
Well—now I do.

Six years ago, I left the classroom and built a new kind of language experience. One where kids actually speak Spanish. One where they build confidence before they ever worry about perfection. [We now have 8 languages to choose from, yes, I'm a polyglot]

And I didn’t stop at middle and high school. I went younger. I want to start with your 3rd grader and work with them until they’re holding their own at 14. This is a long game—and I’m in it for the win.

When I started Language Mindset back in 2019, that’s when I shifted. I stopped designing lessons around grammar, and started designing them around real communication. Not “perfect Spanish”—just usable Spanish.

Now, I build our classes around what actually helps kids speak:
